Scout Fund Application

The Scout Fund offers financial assistance to help young people join Scouts as youth members or fully participate in activities when they otherwise could not afford to do so. Applications must be completed by the Section Leader, Group Leader, or Rover Unit Leader and are treated confidentially. Before applying, applicants should review Scouts ACT Policy 4.4, which outlines the fund’s purpose and procedures.

Financial support is ideally a shared responsibility among the Scout Fund, the Scout Group/Rover Unit, and the applicant. If the applicant cannot contribute financially, an in-kind contribution, such as serving on the Group Committee or assisting at a working bee is encouraged.

What next?

Once submitted, the form will be acknowledged by the Group Leader and approved by the Chief Commissioner and Executive Officer in accordance with policy. Assistance will first be applied to any outstanding amounts owing to Scouts ACT, then held as credit for future expenses like membership fees. If no balance exists, the office will coordinate with the group / unit treasurer regarding refunds or account credits.
